Trump, on Sunday, said he would discuss the "complicated subject" of healthcare during a speech on Tuesday, adding that the Republican government will "repeal and replace" the ACA, which Trump said had "tremendous problems."
"Tomorrow we're going to meet and we're going to discuss things like, perhaps healthcare will come up -- perhaps, and I think we've made made a lot of progress on that and we're going to have a speech on Tuesday night and we're going to be speaking very specifically about a very complicated subject," Trump said. "Everybody's different, every state is different, and different requirements -- but I think we have something that's going to really be excellent ... and I think you're going to see something very, very special."
Republican lawmakers have been criticized for saying they plan to "repeal and replace" the ACA without disclosing their plan on what will replace former President Barack Obama's signature healthcare law.
The last day of the National Governors Conference is Monday, when governor's will discuss issues such as healthcare reform and cybersecurity. Also, Trump will lead a listening sessions with executives from health insurance companies at 10:30 a.m. on Monday.
First lady Melania Trump hosted the Governors' Ball -- her first planned event at the White House. She said she was "proud" to host the event in the State Dining Room. She said the theme for the event was "Spring's Renewal," adding that "the scents of jasmine and roses fill the air as we give thanks for this great nation and the glory of renewal."
"Tonight, we come together as one nation, leaving political labels and partisan interests behind," she said in a statement.-UPI reports.
