Hit-and-run vehicle kills 2 policemen in Nasarawa State

 

Alhaji Lawal Shehu-Batsari, Commissioner of Police in Nasarawa State, has confirmed that two of his men were crushed to death by a hit-and-run vehicle in Lafia on Wednesday. The police boss told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday that he got the report at about 6.05 a.m.
“I got a report that two of my men, who were returning from their duty post along Shendam road, Lafia, on a motor cycle were knocked down by an unknown driver that sped away.
“From the report, the two policemen died on the spot because there was no one to assist them,” he said.
He said that the two officers were attached to the
Department of Operations and had closed from a night duty at NIPOST office in Lafia.The police commissioner said that investigation into the incident had commenced, and vowed to arrest the fleeing driver. (NAN)
