accepting to work with such groups was if they agreed to adopt a non-violence posture in their agitation. According to Daily Post, Uwazurike said the agitation for Biafra would be more effective, if 20 more pro-Biafra groups united for the common cause of actualising Biafra.
According to Uwazuruike, BIM was not against factionalism in the current struggle for Biafra’s independence.
He said, “In fact, I am calling for the emergence of more 20 pro-Biafra groups to join in the campaign but I must caution that all the different groups campaigning for a separate existence for Ndigbo, in the name of Biafra, should always stay on their own and manage themselves very well.
“This our own group has never been threatened by factionalization, rather, while we are the originators, others are imitators.”
Uwazurike noted that all over the world, including South Africa where similar separatist struggles existed, there was always a dominant group, like MASSOB/BIM.
