Hundreds of civil servants in Jigawa State are grumbling
over what they termed ‘indiscriminate deductions’ from their September
salaries,The Sun reports.
The deductions, followed the record obtained from the newly-installed bio-metric machines that capture attendance at work.
The workers, who were stunned to discover that parts of
their salaries had been slashed
in accordance with the number of days
the biometric machine recorded against them, could not hide their
discontent for the system, saying the exercise was an attempt to defraud
them of their legitimate means of livelihood.
Findings revealed that the civil servants had realised
that some parts of their salaries were slashed when they received alerts
indicating payment of their salaries, on Tuesday afternoon.
