Margaret, the wife of the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele, has been rescued from kidnappers, Daily Post reports.The Inspector General of Police’s Special Intelligence Monitoring Team, headed by Abba Kyari, was mandated to carry out the rescue. Margaret was kidnapped on Thursday on the Benin-Agbor Expressway by heavily armed gunmen. She was abducted
alongside her driver and two other women. The Eagle Online reports that a combined security team rescued her at about 12:30am on Saturday (today).
Margaret has since been moved to Asaba, the Delta State capital
Mrs. Emefiele had boarded a flight from Abuja and landed at the Benin Airport in Edo State from where she left for Agbor by road.
The hoodlums intercepted the SUV she was in and shot at an orderly who attempted to stop the abduction.
