Oyeyemi, in a statement made available to newsmen at the weekend, said the duo was arrested at Ijebu, Idi-aro area of Abeokuta, the state capital, by police officers on patrol. The statement noted that Oke and his accomplice, upon sighting policemen, took to their heels with a leather bag containing human bones, adding that the police gave them a hot chase and apprehended them.
The statement read: “On searching the bag with them, it was discovered that it contained human bones.
“Upon interrogation, one of the suspects, Wole Oke, confessed that they were the bones of his sister who died four years ago.
“He further stated that one herbalist sent him to go and bring it for money ritual purpose.
“The Commissioner of Police in the state, Ahmed Iliyasu, has ordered the transfer of the suspects to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, SCIID, for further investigation.
“He also directed that the herbalist mentioned be arrested without further delay,” the statement added.
The police image maker reiterated that the state will not contain ritualists and crime suspects alike as the command was working tirelessly to see to their end.
