Woman who was talked OUT of going to Thailand for a boob job left with lopsided breasts after an implant inserted in Australia exploded

A woman left with wonky breasts after an implant exploded in her chest said she would not have chosen her surgeon if she knew he had been sued several times for negligence. Ashley Blundell, from Newcastle, had no idea Dr Peter Kim had been sued for negligence when she selected him to perform her breast augmentation in 2013 after her parents insisted it was too
risky to travel to Thailand for the procedure
But the 27-year-old now wishes she had stuck to her original plan after one of her implants became infected two weeks later and 'exploded with pus and blood' - leaving her in agonizing pain and with extremely uneven breasts.
I felt like I was dying. I was so hot, and then I would go so cold, and then I would just pass out. The pain would be excruciating,' she told the ABC. Ms Blundell was taken to hospital and had the implant removed, which will require several more surgeries and around $20,000 to repair.
After contracting the infection, Ms Blundell found out Dr Kim had been sued for negligence by at least two other women and was infuriated the information was not available as he had settled out of out without admitting liability each time.
'That's what got me really irritated because he settled a few cases. If I'd seen that on his record, there's no way I would have seen him,' she said.

Dr Kim - who has no sanctions against him by the Medical Board - told the ABC he empathised with Ms Blundell but explained that each patient is aware of the risks of complication before going into surgery.
'I deeply regret and empathise any distress experienced by my patients because of complications,' he said. - Daily Mail
