Thugs attack Bauchi Governor after leaving prayer ground

Hundreds of suspected political thugs yesterday attacked the convoy of Governor Mohammed Abubakar after leaving the Bauchi Eid prayer ground, along Bakaro road in the area. It was gathered that the thugs vandalized the vehicle conveying the government house press corps, destroying the back screen beyond repairs.

The incident caused a stir as the driver of the

government press vehicle tried to escape to save the situation, while other vehicles diverted direction, for safety.It was gathered that the thugs laid ambush at the main road where the governors was expected to pass, chanting slogans such as “Bamayi, meaning, we are not with you, “we don’t want you as governor.”

During the attack, several youths and women were seen openly castigating the governor for allegedly failing to address the plight of the people of the state, Vanguard reports.
