Suspected militants blow up Eni pipeline in Bayelsa

An oil pipeline belonging to a subsidiary of Italy’s Eni, Nigerian Agip Oil Company in Bayelsa state has been blown up. Although nobody has claimed responsibility for the blast, it is believed the attack might have seen carried out by militant group, Niger Delta Avengers.
Recall that the Niger Delta Avengers militant group has claimed responsibility for about five attacks in the last six days.
Confirming the blast, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, said suspected militants carried out the act at Lasukugbene.
According to the corps spokesman, Desmond Agwu, NSCDC officials exchanged gunfire with the hoodlums after the blast on Friday, the Punch gathered.
