Chelsea agree £33m fee with Marseille for Michy Batshuayi as they bid to beat rivals Tottenham in race for striker

Chelsea have agreed a £33million transfer fee with Marseille for Michy Batshuayi. The Belgium striker has been the subject of fevered bidding in recent days with West Ham, Crystal Palace and Tottenham all speaking to Marseille, who had to raise £21m by July 5 to pay of French football finance regulator DNCG.
Chelsea are understood to be sending a club doctor to Belgium's Euro 2016 base in Bordeaux for medical tests as they look to get deal completed. Batshuayi is due to be put forward at his country's press conference on Wednesday evening ahead of facing Wales.

His representatives have already outlined a five-year contract with Chelsea and his move will be ratified once he has had a medical and gone over finer details.
Marseille are also due to pay his former club Standard Liege £11.5m as part of their 35 per cent sell-on agreement.
The 22-year-old scored 21 goals last season and was on target in his country's 4-0 win over Hungary on Sunday, when he came off the bench to replace Romelu Lukaku.
Lukaku was another option for Chelsea while their priority target has been Alvaro Morata at Real Madrid, though that deal is considered complicated and they face fierce competition.
Chelsea have sent Radamel Falcao back to Monaco while Loic Remy is a target for clubs in Turkey and Atletico Madrid remain keen on a return for Diego Costa,Dailymail reports.
